Our eyebrows sometimes have a mind of their own and grow in different directions.
Brow lamination relaxes those unruly hairs, making brows easier to style up for a bold bushy brow, or style to the side just to cover any gaps, similar to the famous eyelash enhancement treatment. These are two ways to enhance what you already have by manipulating hair with chemicals.
The treatment is often combined with eyebrow tinting for a bolder look.
The result lasts 4-6 weeks, more or less depending on your brow hair texture.
You don’t know how long your natural lashes are until you receive a Lash Lift treatment!
Lash Lift curls your lashes from base to tip so you can see the full length and tints your natural lashes, so it eliminates the need for daily lash curling and leaves you an extra 15 free minutes every morning.
The treatment begins with an in-depth consultation to determine the type of lash you wish to achieve. Based on the answer, the permanent makeup artist will then choose an appropriate curling rod size to shape the lashes.
The result of the eyelash lift lasts up to 6 to 8 weeks.
Our PMU services are offered in alliance with DR. BROWS, Vancouver’s top-rated semi-permanent makeup clinic.
DR. BROWS was founded to fill a gap in the market for semi-permanent makeup studios that prioritize both technical expertise and artistic flair. Its mission is to offer a personalized approach that caters to the unique needs of our clients, taking into consideration factors such as facial anatomy, proportion, skin tone, and color theory. By narrowing down the range of services, the clinic can maintain its focus on providing exceptional quality in each of its offerings.
DR. BROWS began the journey by training with the experts at the Phi Academy, a pioneer in the permanent makeup industry. This has equipped them with the technical expertise needed to address concerns like non-toxic pigments, durability, and eco-friendly products. The commitment to quality and safety is of utmost importance, and training from the Phi Academy was the first step in achieving this goal. To further enhance the services, obtaining a medical aesthetics certificate was a must, which allows DR. BROWS to leverage her knowledge of skin types and common diseases to provide meticulous attention to detail. With personalized and innovative solutions, the unique needs of each client can be properly fulfilled.

Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique used for the eyebrows that gives a handmade hair-to-hair effect.
A small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin. Microblading differs from standard eyebrow tattooing, because each hairstroke is created by hand, using a blade which creates fine slices in the skin, whereas eyebrow tattoos are done with a machine and single needle.
Ombré Brows or Powdered Brows is a semi-permanent, machine-made brow shading technique that creates a soft, shaded brow pencil look.
Initially, this is an alternative method on oily skin or those with old tattoos that is not suitable for Microblading.
This treatment also fits for clients who want a fuller result than hair strokes. The tails of the eyebrows are darker and blend into a light start on the eyebrows, giving a perfect Ombre makeup effect. The effects will be waterproof, smudge-proof and completely natural.
Ombré Brows or Powdered Brows is a semi-permanent, machine-made brow shading technique that creates a soft, shaded brow pencil/shadow look.
Initially, this is an alternative method for oily skins or those with old tattoos that are not suitable for Microblading.
This treatment also fits for clients who want a fuller result other than hair stroke-like. The tails of the eyebrows are darker and blend into a light start on the eyebrows, giving a perfect Ombre makeup affect. The effect will be waterproof, smudge-proof and completely natural.
This technique can also be combined with NanoBrows to achieve a different result.
NanoBrows is a high-end service that gives a hair-by-hair, machine-made effect, for those looking for the look of haircuts. It’s a beautiful technique that allows you to make different patterns for skins that are not suitable for Microblading.
The machine procedure may be best suited for clients with thick, oily, textured, or sensitive skin. Almost all skin types that are not normal or mild combination.
NanoBrows are done by machine with micro-perforations rather than manually through small incisions. Combined with shading, it can provide the best longer lasting natural makeup effect for the eyebrows.
Semi-permanent makeup will gradually fade over time. Because it’s not done as deep as old tattoos. The pigments used for our semi-permanent eyebrows are generally soft and natural.
On the other hand, results vary from person to person, depending on skin type, life style and etc. For example on dry skin can last up to 2-3 years, but on oily and acne-prone skin, it lasts less. In people who train often and sweat a lot, it lasts even less.

Pain during the treatment is relative. Scared clients usually feel stronger pain, while the other clients compare such pain with the one that they feel when plucking out their eyebrows.
Usually the pain is mild to zero just for the first 5 minutes. It would be mostly a discomfort, making you sneeze, or your eyes watering, but it’s manageable. After that 5 minutes, when the skin gets already open, we apply a numbing gel, the area freezes and you won’t feel anything till the end of procedure.
Don’t worry about the pain at all. Most of our clients say at the end that they have been afraid for nothing and they regret not coming earlier due to their fears.
In addition, with women having period there is an increased sensitivity to pain, so it is not recommended to do the treatment while ladies have their period.
We always start with a consultation to discuss your desired look and define the possible treatments.
Then we continue by drawing the pattern of the eyebrows with a regular eyebrow pencil.
Measures are taken based on the golden ratio (Fibonacci numbers: Phi) and to ensure that it’s in the best proportion with your facial features and that the eyebrows are uniform.
We use a mobile app to take photos and check if the shape is symmetrical.
This is not a rushed procedure, we take a good time on shaping as this is the most important part and we will only begin the procedure when you are happy with the shape and approve it. The pigment tone will be matched with your natural hair, brow and skin color or whatever shade that you desire.
Once the outline is done, we will begin the actual procedure either by scraping the skin and manually creating the hair-like strokes within the lines for Microblading service, or by machine for NanoBrows, or Ombré Powdered Brows.
Microblading needles are dipped in pigment and small strokes are made into the skin. The pigment is deposited under the dermis. This creates the tattoo.
Do not drink alcohol, ibuprofen or caffeine 24 hours before your appointment. This can cause excessive bleeding.
Better not to wear makeup to the appointment but if not possible for you all makeup will be removed from your forehead before we start.
Women should not book their appointment during their menstrual cycle as the body is more sensitive during this time causing the procedure to be more painful.

For best results, avoid the following:
Scratching your tattoo.
Picking off scabs. Let the scabs fall off naturally.
Using soaps, face washes, shampoo, conditioner and water on pigmented areas.
Polysporin, petroleum jelly or any product containing lanolin or healing agents.
Immersing yourself in water, swimming, saunas or steam rooms for two weeks. The area should stay dry.
Makeup the pigmented areas for two weeks.
Applying any kind of skin product to your tattooed area. Most of the skin products have regenerative factors inside and will lead to make your tattooed skin peel and fade sooner.
Exposing your tattoo to the sun. Your skin is raw and more sensitive to the sun. Once your tattoo has healed, you should apply sunscreen to the area when out in the sun. Sunscreen is the only product that you can apply on your tattoo.
Touchup session is necessary because the artist should check how your skin has healed, and if the shade was dark enough.
Also, chances are you missed a few strokes during the healing process, for some reason. In order to fix what is missing, we redo all the strokes, one by one, and put pigments in the same place to make it last longer and make corrections if needed.
Since any type of scar tissue takes 10 days to 4 weeks to heal on different skin types, the touchup session should take place within 4-8 weeks of the initial procedure. This way, the skin is already healed and ready for touchup.
The final look of your fully healed semi-permanent makeup will be apparent approximately 30 days after the touchup session.
However you can expect an acceptable look right after the treatment and resume your normal daily life.
General precautions
For the first 7 days avoid washing your eyebrows directly and avoid direct contact with the showerhead.
If contact with water happened, gently dry your eyebrows with a clean cotton pad to make sure the tattoo area is completely dry.
Avoid excessive sweating for the first 2 weeks as the skin is still open and can reject the pigment.
Avoid any kind of skincare product and makeup on your eyebrows; as most of these products have regenerative factors inside and may cause infection during the healing or faster fading after the healing.
After that your healing is fully done, the only cream that you can and should use on your eyebrows is sunscreen. Whenever you put it on your face put a good amount on your eyebrows as well.
Day 1
The first day is probably the most exciting of the whole process. You have new eyebrows and you want the world to see them. You may experience some redness, which is normal, but will be gone in couple of hours.
Depending on the time of your treatment (a.m. or p.m.) in the first and second days clean your eyebrows gently every 2 hours right after with those special damp cotton pads that your artist gives you. This prevents the formation of thick crusts.
Day 2-4
After day 2, there should be no more blood. Here, your brows will appear a bit darker than the day before, but don’t worry. The pigment will fade 20% to 40%, which means it won’t be as sharp and strong as it might appear at this time.
Keep the eyebrows still dry and clean.
Day 5-7
This is when everything starts to change. The eyebrow area dries out and begins to flake off. The first thing you will feel is itching.
It is extremely important NOT to scratch your eyebrows at all. You can just push your nails around the eyebrows to decrease the itchiness.
Do not pick the scabs off and let them fall off on their own.
Day 8-10
This stage is probably the hardest days of the whole process. During these days, the crusting process will be even more dramatic. You will see big scabs on your eyebrows, and a faint, hazy and light tattoo appears underneath, because another thin layer of dead skin still covers the area at this stage, which contributes to the blurring, but don’t worry, the dead skin will continue to flake off over the next few weeks.
It is still very important not to pick them.
Day 14-28
This is when your eyebrow tattooing healing process slowly comes to an end.
You will gradually realize that the scabs are gone, your brow color is back and they look better than ever however, there could be some strokes which are missed during the healing process and they still look a little patchy.
The upper layers of skin heal faster than the lower layers. Although your tattoo may look great at this stage, your skin is still healing.
No additional precautions are required at this stage.
Day 30-60
The skin is already healed and this period is the best time for touchups to fix whatever is missed, redo all the strokes, one by one, and put pigments in the same spots to make your eyebrows last longer.
Remember that any permanent makeup is done in a two-sessions procedure and you’ll see the final result after the healing of the second session. It takes patience, and trust, and your artist appreciates your collaboration.
